How our grant programs put people on the road
We are a group of journalists, business owners, and former diplomats who came together in August 2021 to assist our friend Zubair Babakarkhail and his family in fleeing Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul to the Taliban.
Our initial ask was modest: $10,000. We quickly exceeded that, and the outpouring of support from hundreds of people around the world has inspired us to do more.
Team Zubair is the resulting initiative to help more people from Afghanistan and other countries as they settle permanently in their new homes across the United States.
